The first Arizona Buc-ee's opened in Goodyear on June 22, 2026, near Interstate 10 and Bullard Avenue.
For RV travelers, that's a pretty exciting addition. Buc-ee's is practically a destination for road travelers, offering fuel, food, snacks, drinks, shopping, and plenty of Texas-sized Buc-ee's personality, and great fuel prices!
Its location along I-10 makes the Goodyear location particularly convenient for RV’rs traveling through Arizona or heading toward Phoenix from California.
Stop for fuel, or for snacks, even just to say you’ve been. Buc-ee’s is a great place to stop and a memorable experience for people of all ages.

Our Favorite Family-Friendly RV Parks
Mesa Sunset
Mesa Sunset is an all-age RV resort in Mesa that combines RV camping with a resort-style atmosphere.
The park features a swimming pool and spa, clubhouse, pickleball, activities and events, fitness facilities, and a dog park. It's also located near Usery Mountain Regional Park and the Superstition Mountains, giving visitors easy access to outdoor adventures. There is an incredible view of the Superstition Mountains from many of the park sites, and you are centrally located in a great area.
Why we like it: A great combination of family-friendly amenities, outdoor recreation, and access to the East Valley.
Buckeye Ranch RV Resort
Located along I-10 in the West Valley, Buckeye Ranch is a newer resort-style property that is particularly convenient for RV travelers.
The resort offers full-hookup sites, pull-through sites, a heated pool, hot tub, pickleball, fitness center, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, clubhouse activities, and a dog park. They are incredibly friendly and offer a modern more refined RV experience.
Why we like it: Easy interstate access, spacious RV sites, and a strong mix of family and pet-friendly amenities.
Pleasant Harbor RV Resort
If your family enjoys the water, Pleasant Harbor is hard to beat. Located at Lake Pleasant, the resort gives you access to boating, fishing, swimming, water sports, boat rentals, a marina, restaurants, and other recreational activities.
The RV resort offers more than 250 full-service sites, along with amenities including a heated pool and spa, clubhouse, pickleball, basketball, laundry, Wi-Fi, and on-site propane delivery.
Why we like it: Lake Pleasant puts an entirely different kind of adventure right outside your RV door. Not to mention the view!
Desert's Edge RV Park
Desert's Edge is a family-friendly Phoenix RV park with more than 220 full-hookup RV sites.
Amenities include a heated swimming pool, hot tub, recreation areas, fitness center, dog parks, a dog run, and organized activities. Its North Phoenix location also provides convenient access to I-17, Scottsdale, downtown Phoenix, sports venues, restaurants, and other attractions.
Why we like it: It's a great option for travelers who want the convenience of being close to Phoenix while still having a campground atmosphere.
Campground USA RV Park
Campground USA is another option worth checking out for RV travelers looking for a convenient Phoenix-area stay. This smaller campground is quiet and great for full-timers.
Why we like it: It can be a challenge to find clean family-friendly parks in Arizona- This is another choice to keep on your list when planning a Phoenix-area RV trip, especially if you're comparing locations and availability.

Sometimes the campground isn't the destination, the view is.
And the Phoenix area has some incredible places where the scenery is the best part of the experience.
Pleasant Harbor RV Resort
Pleasant Harbor deserves another mention because of its location at Lake Pleasant.
The combination of water, desert landscape, and surrounding mountains creates a completely different camping experience from staying in the middle of the city.
Roadrunner Campground at Lake Pleasant
If your priority is scenery, Roadrunner Campground at Lake Pleasant should definitely be on your list.
The campground is located inside Lake Pleasant Regional Park and is known for scenic surroundings, desert landscapes, peaceful campsites, and memorable sunrise and sunset views. It offers 71 developed campsites suitable for RV and tent camping.
Why we like it: Lake views, desert scenery, and a more traditional camping experience.
Rowland Campground at McDowell Mountain Regional Park
For mountain scenery and a quieter desert camping experience, Rowland Campground is another favorite.
Located within McDowell Mountain Regional Park, the campground offers developed campsites surrounded by classic Sonoran Desert scenery and wide-open views toward the surrounding mountains.
Why we like it: Peaceful surroundings, open desert scenery, and some fantastic mountain views.
Our Favorite RV Parks for Amenities
If your idea of RV camping includes resort-style amenities, Phoenix has plenty of options. From heated pools to bingo-night, there’s something for everyone.
Desert's Edge RV Park
Desert's Edge makes the list again because of its impressive combination of convenience and amenities.
With a heated pool, hot tub, recreation facilities, fitness center, dog parks, full hookups, and organized activities, it's a good choice for RVers who don't want to sacrifice comfort while traveling.
Verde Ranch RV Resort
While Verde Ranch is in Camp Verde rather than the Phoenix metro area, it's worth mentioning for RV travelers exploring Arizona.
The resort offers 389 full-hookup RV sites, including pull-through sites, along with Wi-Fi, cable, a heated pool, hot tubs, pickleball, bocce ball, a splash pad, playground, fitness center, K9 Corner, walking trails, a clubhouse, and river recreation.
It's also a fantastic base for exploring northern Arizona, with Sedona, the Verde Valley, and other attractions nearby.
Why we like it: It feels like a destination resort while also putting you in a great position to explore more of Arizona.
Mesa Regal RV Resort
For snowbirds and active adults looking for a huge selection of amenities, Mesa Regal is in a category of its own.
The resort offers four outdoor pools, two spas, 12 pickleball courts, six lighted tennis courts, 24 shuffleboard courts, bocce ball, fitness facilities, arts and crafts, woodworking, ceramics, live music, social events, and more than 100 activities and amenities.
Why we like it: It's less like simply parking your RV and more like joining an active winter community.

Phoenix Is More Than Just a Place to Park Your RV
One of the best things about RVing in the Phoenix area is how much there is to do once you've parked.
You can spend the morning hiking in the Superstition Mountains, take an afternoon drive to Saguaro Lake, catch a spring-training baseball game, explore Old Town Scottsdale, visit a museum, play a round of golf, enjoy a great meal, or simply sit outside your RV and watch the sunset over the desert.
